1/2 cup black sesame seeds
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 tbsp brown sugar
6 tbsp coconut oil
Wash the sesame seeds and then place them on a paper towel to dry for a few minutes.
Spread the sesame seeds out on a baking sheet.
Preheat the oven to 300 F and place the sesame seeds in the oven - you don't need to wait until it hits 300, just put them in as the oven preheats.
Bake the sesame seeds for ~15 minutes. You'll know they're done when you can smell a nutty flavor when you open the oven. Plus, black sesame seeds puff up when they're toasted.
Add sesame seeds, granulated sugar, and brown sugar to a blender or food processor and grind until you have a homogenous powder.
Transfer to a bowl and add in the coconut oil. Mix well until you have a soft, sticky paste. An electric mixer can be particularly helpful here.
Cover and freeze for an hour or until the paste is hard.
